Serenity Valley Family Dentistry
Family Dentist
in Fargo, ND
Finding a dentist for the whole family sounds straightforward until you realize most offices treat either children or adults, not both. When your toddler needs their first exam, your teenager needs a cleaning before school starts, and you’re due for your own checkup, the last thing you want is to juggle three different offices, three different sets of forms, and three different appointment schedules.
At Serenity Valley Family Dentistry, we built our Fargo practice around a simple idea: one calm, welcoming office that provides dental care for the whole family, from the youngest patients to grandparents. Dr. Shandra Rosenfeldt and Dr. Elly Erickson take the time to understand what each person actually needs and to make sure they feel comfortable every step of the way. Families across Fargo and the surrounding area know they can bring everyone in and feel right at home.
What Full-Family Dental Care Actually Looks Like
Many families search for a dentist who is “good with kids” without realizing what that truly means in practice. Full-family care means the same team has the training and patience to treat a nervous six-year-old, a teenager in the middle of braces consultations, a young adult heading off to college, and adults with crowns, fillings, or gum health concerns. It means the people in the office know your family’s history without you having to repeat it.
Quality Care for Kids from the Very Start
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children see a dentist by their first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth appearing. Early visits do more than check for cavities. They help kids build a relationship with dental care that shapes their habits for life. We make those first visits calm and positive, so kids leave feeling good about coming back.
The benefits of pediatric dentistry extend well beyond spotting early decay. We also screen for airway and tongue-tie concerns, monitor jaw development, and give parents practical guidance they can use at home.
Preventive and Restorative Care for Adults
Adults in our practice receive the same thoughtful, unhurried approach. Whether you need a routine cleaning, a filling, a crown, or something more involved, we take the time to walk you through what we’re seeing and your options. Our focus is conservative, long-term care, not pushing unnecessary treatment.
Our preventive dentistry services are the foundation of everything else. When prevention is done well, you end up needing far less restorative work over time. We also offer sedation dentistry for patients who feel anxious in the dental chair, so that fear doesn’t become a reason to avoid care.
A Calm, Relaxed Environment for Every Age
We hear this often from new patients: they expected a clinical, hurried experience and were surprised by how different our office feels. We are not a high-volume practice. We do not rush appointments. When you sit down in our chair, the goal is for you to feel like you’re being taken care of, not processed.
This environment matters especially for children, who pick up quickly on the energy of a space. When a child sees that their parent is relaxed and that the team is warm and unhurried, their own anxiety drops, setting the tone for a lifetime of positive dental experiences.
Fee-for-Service Care and Our In-House Membership Plan
We are a fee-for-service practice, which means we are not contracted with insurance networks. Patients often ask us what that means for their costs. In short, it means we are not bound by what an insurance company decides your care should look like. We recommend what is right for you, not what a contract requires us to offer.
We do accept insurance and submit claims on your behalf. You may receive reimbursement directly from your provider depending on your plan. We also accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
For patients without insurance, or those looking for a simpler, more predictable way to budget for care, we offer our own in-house membership plan. Launched in late 2024, the plan covers routine preventive care for a flat annual fee. It is a practical option for families who want consistent access to care without the complexity of traditional dental insurance.
